Last week’s game against the Vikings was one of missed opportunities. I have never been a part of a game where we felt like we were clicking on offense but it still felt like we weren’t doing enough. I felt like we played a very good game that had lots of things we can build, on but missed opportunities is what ultimately brought us a loss.
A large boost to our team last week was getting our offensive line healthy again. I felt like those guys were the key reason we were able to move the ball so effectively throughout the entire game against the Vikings. Our guys really excelled against a very talented defensive line.
We are getting to the point in the season where almost every week is a “win now” type scenario. We have played a lot of really tough teams in what has been one of the toughest schedules in the NFL. Even in our losses we have played a lot of talented teams very well. In all of those games it feels like we have come up short by the smallest of margins. Hopefully we can fix that against New Orleans but we know we are going to have our hands full against one of the best teams in the NFC.
We understand that every single game in the NFL will be a fight to the finish. During the course of a season you are going to have frustrating losses and wins that come by the skin of your teeth. Neither situation is going to define what makes you a bad or a good football team. What defines a good football team is learning and growing from every game and then using that to take a step forward as a team.
